The formation of Aandhra Punya Bhuumi as a separate Linguistic State, was proclaimed on 1st November 1956 thanks to the relentless, unswerving and dedicated efforts of great Telugu Lovers. Amongst them, the Telugu Martyr Amara Jeevi Potti Sriramulu GAaru, who sacrificed his own life for this noble cause. Sri Potti Sriramulu undertook an unending fast. 58 days after, he shed his mortal coil and left this world for higher abode.
