Telugu Association of London's Inaugural Function-

We are glad to announce that Telugu Association of London (TAL) office has been opened by Mrs. Padmaja Reddy wife of AP Assembly speaker Sri K. R. Suresh Reddy on 27/06/2005. TAL is officially functioning from this well presented and decorated office, situated at Grosvenor House, 147 The Broadway, West Ealing, London W13 9BE. It is a great leap for TAL activities and an important event for Telugu community living in and around London.

Dr. Ramulu Dasoju, Chairman, TAL organising committee had welcomed Hon’ Speaker’s family and introduced to the organisers and other guests. The chairman has thanked the Speaker’s family for the acceptance to open the office. He expressed that TAL was honoured with their presence. He briefed the history of TAL formation and past activities. B. Rama Naidu from TAL explained about future activities. He explained that TAL is a community service oriented organisation. In her response Mrs. Padmaja Reddy had appreciated the sensible vision of TAL and was a privilege to her to participate in TAL office opening ceremony. She thanked for TAL’s invitation. In his response, Hon’ Speaker advised us to learn from other Telugu associations like ETA, TANA etc. He further explained about the importance of the combination of cultural and social activities to attract the Telugu community in general and youth and children in particular. He shared the views and suggestions expressed by the audience. He explained that the government has recognised the importance to develop our cultural awareness among future generations living abroad and steps taken by the government level. He further explained that they are planning to organise a seminar exclusively for Telugu associations working abroad. He informed that the government is taking steps to develop a live communication arrangements with Telugu associations. He thanked for TAL invitation.

TAL was privileged with an unexpected presence of Sri Siva Reddy, a gifted Telugu mimicry and film artist and upcoming singer Ms. Gayathri Rao. Mr and Mrs. Prabhakar Reddy had presented a memento to Hon’ Speaker’s family. Ms. Prathima has given a short classical performance for the occasion. In his vote thanks Sri Mahesh Kumar of TAL thanked to Hon’ Speaker’s family and other guests who participated in the event. It was followed by dinner.
